Moving in Palm Jumeirah
Palm Jumeirah, developed by Nakheel, is split into three parts, and each one changes how a move is planned. The trunk holds the apartment buildings, with units from studios up to six-bedroom layouts. The fronds are lined with villas, many with two to ten bedrooms and direct beach access. The outer crescent is mostly resorts and hotels, with some branded residences. A trunk apartment move looks much like a tower move anywhere else in Dubai; a frond villa can mean a full day of packing, outdoor furniture, gym equipment and fragile items.
There is only one road link to the mainland, from Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Sufouh Road at the base of the trunk, and the crescent is reached by a tunnel under the water. Every vehicle shares that single spine, so traffic builds near Palm Jumeirah Mall and the hotels at peak times and around events. The fronds are dead-end roads with security at the entrance, and guards will usually check the permit and the truck's details before letting the crew in. The Palm Monorail runs from the Gateway station near the Palm Jumeirah tram stop to Atlantis, but it is no use for furniture.
Nakheel handles permits for its own properties, through the Nakheel website or the My Nakheel app. Applicants typically need Ejari, Emirates ID, visa and passport copies, the latest DEWA bill, the mover's trade licence and vehicle registration details, and should apply at least 24 hours ahead. Buildings on the trunk and crescent built by other developers may run their own process instead. For villa moves we bring wardrobe cartons, padding for large pieces and enough crew to keep the job inside the allowed hours; for apartments we coordinate with the building's loading bay and service lift.

What do I need for a Nakheel move permit on Palm Jumeirah?
Nakheel usually asks for your Ejari, Emirates ID, passport and visa copies, a recent DEWA bill, the moving company's trade licence and vehicle registration details. Owners may also need a title deed. Apply through the My Nakheel app or website at least 24 hours ahead. Non-Nakheel buildings may follow their own process.
