Moving in Ras Al Khaimah
At around 110 to 120 km, Ras Al Khaimah is the furthest northern emirate we regularly drive to from Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) north is about 112 km and takes roughly 1 hour 15 minutes in light traffic; Emirates Road (E611) is about 121 km and up to 1 hour 25 minutes. Both routes cross Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, so the real variable is how quickly the truck clears the Dubai–Sharjah stretch. We plan a same-day RAK move backwards from the unloading: packing finished the evening before, loading in Dubai at first light, and the truck through Sharjah well before the evening peak. That leaves the afternoon in RAK for unloading, bed assembly and unpacking the kitchen.
Families moving north usually head for one of a few areas. Al Hamra Village has both apartments and villas and is one of the most requested addresses. Al Marjan and Al Seer are mainly apartments, while Al Refaa and Al Dhait are villa areas. The housing mix matters for how we load: a waterfront apartment in Al Marjan means a lift booking and possibly a longer carry from the loading point, whereas a villa in Al Dhait is a bigger volume but easier access. We ask for both addresses, floor levels and any building rules when we survey, then size the truck and crew for the full distance.
Administratively, nothing carries over from Dubai. There is no Ejari here: the tenancy contract is issued and registered by RAK Municipality, which handles new, renewed and amended contracts through its online services. Electricity and water are supplied by Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), which serves Ras Al Khaimah along with the other northern emirates; DEWA has no role. Close your DEWA account in Dubai and open the EtihadWE one in RAK in parallel, so you are not paying for one home after leaving it or arriving at another without power.

Can you move us from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah in a single day?
