Meydan and Mohammed Bin Rashid City lie between Downtown Dubai and Nad Al Sheba, reached from Al Khail Road, Ras Al Khor Road, Al Meydan Street and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. It is a freehold area made up of separate developments rather than one uniform community. Meydan Group's master plan around Meydan Racecourse includes the townhouse and villa areas of Millennium Estates, Meydan Heights and Grand Views, and apartment projects such as Azizi Riviera and The Polo Residence. Within MBR City, Sobha Realty's Sobha Hartland mixes towers, townhouses and villas; District One, by Meydan Sobha, has villas and low-rise residences around a Crystal Lagoon; District 11 and MAG City add more townhouses and apartments.
Because so much of it is recent, moves into newly handed-over units are common, often in towers where the service lift and loading bay are in demand from several new residents at once. Each developer or building management sets its own move procedure, so approval for a Sobha Hartland tower is not arranged the same way as for a District One villa. Most towers have basement or podium parking, and visitors use RTA paid parking near the racecourse.
There is no metro station inside the area. Business Bay on the Red Line is the nearest, a short drive away, and most residents drive. The short run to Downtown and Business Bay makes Meydan a frequent destination for people moving out of apartments there and in older central districts. Villa moves in District One and Sobha Hartland usually carry more volume, with four or more bedrooms, outdoor furniture and gym equipment, and tend to go more smoothly with packing done the day before.
