Discovery Gardens is almost entirely apartments: close to 300 low-rise buildings developed by Nakheel, mostly studios and one- and two-bedroom flats, arranged in six themed clusters named Zen, Mediterranean, Contemporary, Mogul, Mesoamerican and Cactus. Addresses here work by cluster and building number rather than by street, so a booking that says "Mogul 171" or "Mediterranean 67" tells us far more than a map pin. The residents are a mix of single professionals in studios, couples and small families, and the moves follow that pattern: a studio to a one-bedroom, flatmates splitting into separate homes, or a growing family heading to a villa in Al Furjan or a larger flat elsewhere.
The community is a long rectangle between Interchanges 5 and 6, with one side on Sheikh Zayed Road and the other along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Getting in and out at rush hour is slow, so we aim the drive in for mid-morning or early afternoon where the building allows it. The Gardens and Discovery Gardens metro stations make life easy for residents without a car, but for moving day everything goes by truck.
There are no designated car parks, though parking around each building is generally plentiful, which usually lets us stand the truck close to the entrance. In low-rise blocks we plan for both the lift and the stairs, and large wardrobes or corner sofas normally need taking apart to fit either. As a Nakheel community, move permits generally go through Nakheel Community Management on the My Nakheel app, and a permit is only processed once the landlord's service charges are clear. If you are leaving a rental, it is worth asking your landlord to check that early rather than the day before.
