Moving in Dubai South
Dubai South, formerly Dubai World Central, is a master-planned city built around Al Maktoum International Airport, and it is one of the longest runs we make within Dubai from our Deira office. The trip is a cross-city drive down Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) or Emirates Road (E611), so we plan Dubai South jobs around the commuter peaks rather than squeezing them in between other moves. Off-peak, the Marina is roughly 25 to 35 minutes away and Downtown 40 to 55 minutes, which matters when a family is moving out of the older city into one of the newer communities here.
The district is a collection of distinct neighbourhoods, and each one sets up a different kind of job. The Residential District has apartments and townhouses spread across several gated compounds. The Pulse, the most established cluster, mixes mid-rise apartment blocks with townhouses. Emaar South has golf villas, townhouses and apartments around an 18-hole course, divided into sub-communities including Golf Links, Golf Point, Greenview, Parkside, Urbana and Saffron. South Bay has townhouses and large lagoon mansions, while MAG 5 Boulevard is mostly studios and one- and two-bedroom flats. Expo City Dubai, with its apartments and Expo Valley villas, sits right next door and is planned in the same way.
Permits follow the developer. Emaar South falls under Emaar's move-permit system, applied for online with the Ejari or title deed, Emirates ID and passport with visa page, and the moving company's details. In other compounds, ask the community or building management what they need and when, and we will send our trade licence and truck information. Gate security in the gated clusters usually wants the truck and crew registered ahead of time. Because Dubai South sits between the city and Abu Dhabi, around 45 to 60 minutes from the capital off-peak, we also move people the other way, and the same route planning applies.
